At a recent TEDx conference we were asked to select a series of 7 words that is some way meant something to us. The intention was that the words would be printed on your name badge and would serve as an icebreaker during the conference to help encourage conversation. I took the task seriously and the result was the neolithic form of what now serves as our business credo ( I will leave it to you to guess which adverb was added to bring it up to eight). In these eight words I found a basis for the studio's future interaction with the world.
We are all time travelers, moving foreword inexorably carried by the current of the passing days. Unfortunately to some this means that they feel obliged to discard aspect of the past even though they are still as valid as ever, and are in fact even more essential. The first to go always seems to be civility, followed closely by respect, diligence, and finally by personal accountability.
That is not how DogBrain Studios does Business.
As the interaction between artists and their clients has gotten increasingly technical some artists have chosen to take unfair advantage of the gap. When they do this they discard respect and we don't do that at DogBrain Studios. At the same time we are skilled professionals and as such ask only in return from our clients what we give. The subjective nature of art has always laid it's intrinsic value in question. At DogBrain Studios we are not just artists, we are trained professionals and tradesmen, think of us as "Plumbers with paint Brushes". To fully understand what this means try and barter with a plumber sometime.
Since we are Professional Tradesmen above all else we take the traits of diligence and personal accountability very seriously. Artists have a reputation for being mercurial and flighty and some use that as an excuse to over book themselves and that leads to missed deadlines. At DogBrain Studios we take deadlines very seriously. When you come to us it because you have a need that needs to be filled and you need us to fill it, on time.
Finally we come down to civility and we save this for the last because the last paragraph of a page is visually the foundation of everything that stands above it and that is where civility belongs. At DogBrain Studios we believe that people are the foundation for any successful business, both the people who come to us with their designs and those who make them a reality. Any successful business know that in the final estimation it is all about the people involved.
